First ever full international in the Volkswagen Arena
Germany to take on Liechtenstein in a World Cup qualifier in Wolfsburg on 11 November.
For the first time ever, Wolfsburg’s Volkswagen Arena will play host to a men’s full international match. Germany – under new head coach Hansi Flick – will be coming to play in the Wolves’ back yard as they take on Liechtenstein as part of Matchday 9 in Group J of World Cup qualifying. The tie will kick off at 20:45 CET on Thursday 11 November 2021.
Perfect pitch guaranteed
Volkswagen – who have been the main sponsors of the DFB (German Football Association) since 2017 – have further cause for celebration after scooping a special award in conjunction with VfL. The Volkswagen Arena’s perfectly manicured grass has been voted Bundesliga Pitch of the Year by the DFL (German Football League), making it the ideal venue for international action on 11 November!
