It certainly won’t be a mere formality when VfL Wolfsburg Women welcome Kosovan champions KFF Mitrovica to the AOK Stadion on Wednesday (kick-off 18:00 CEST/live on Wölfe TV) for the second leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League round of 32 tie. Although the She-Wolves are all but sure of a place in the last 16 after their 10-0 win in the first leg in Pristina, the Green-and-Whites will not be taking it easy in the return leg as they want to give their fans an evening of attractive football under the floodlights.

“We want to once again demonstrate very attacking football on the pitch,” stated head coach Stephan Lerch. “It’s important that we’re on it from the first minute to the last and we put the opposition under pressure. This time our mission is also to entertain the crowd by finding solutions against a deep-lying team and scoring the odd goal.”

The VfL coach will again be without Almuth Schult (rehab after shoulder surgery), Sara Doorsoun (foot), Svenja Huth (knee ligament) and Fridolina Rolfö. However, fans of VfL Women won’t have to go without live coverage of their side’s first UWCL home match of the season, with Wölfe TV streaming the game live on the VfL Wolfsburg YouTube channel. Coverage starts around 17:50 CEST.
