VfL Wolfsburg will travel to fourth-tier side SV Elversberg in the DFB Cup first round.
VfL Wolfsburg will face fourth-tier opposition, SV Elversberg of the Regionalliga South-West, in the first round of the 2018/19 DFB Cup, the Wolves' first competitive game of the new domestic season.
The draw for the DFB Cup first round was made by DFB president Reinhard Grindel and TV presenter Palina Rojinski at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Friday.
The 32 first-round ties will be played between 17 and 20 August, with the exact schedule to be announced in the near future. When available, final details of the Wolves' first-round fixture will be communicated via the club's channels as usual.
First meeting with Elversberg
The first-round encounter will be the Wolves' maiden competitive meeting with the Saarland club. Under the interim charge of Roland Seitz since March, Elversberg finished fifth last season, but qualified for the DFB Cup as Saarland State Cup winners.
