Wreath laid at the grave of the 'Number 10 of our hearts'.
Sunday 26 May marked the 14th anniversary of the passing of former VfL Wolfsburg player Krzysztof Nowak. On Tuesday, his widow Beata, VfL managing director Dr. Tim Schumacher and other club and fan representatives gathered at his grave at the Waldfriedhof cemetery in Wolfsburg to pay their respects and lay a wreath in his memory.
Never to be forgotten
The annual gathering at the grave serves as a reminder that Nowak, who suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and died in 2005, lives long in the memory and that he will always remain a part of VfL Wolfsburg. Donations can be made to the Krzystof Nowak Foundation, which fights against the incurable disease that affects the nervous system.
