Three days after their 3-2 triumph over Eintracht Frankfurt, VfL Wolfsburg Women beat their league rivals once again in the teams’ second winter friendly. This time the score was 3-0 at the AOK Stadion thanks to efforts from Felicitas Rauch, Pia-Sophie Wolter and a Frankfurt own goal.
VfL’s last friendly of the winter break is on Friday 29 January away to SGS Essen (kick-off 18:00 CET).
“Fantastic to keep a clean sheet”
VfL head coach Stephan Lerch: “I think we were able to see a development compared to the first friendly on Wednesday. We kept a clean sheet, which is fantastic. We wanted to be more dominant in this game, which we managed in terms of the result. At the end of the day we fully deserved to win against a good side. We’re happy to have won both matches against them.”
