Chinese battery manufacturer BAK Battery is now supporting VfL Wolfsburg as an official Premium Partner. The high-tech firm, which was set up in 2005 in Shenzhen and successfully operates in the core areas of 3C batteries, rechargeable batteries and battery recycling, has been given a comprehensive sponsoring package and will organise a training camp for children in China as part of the agreement. BAK Power’s products and services include batteries, battery packaging and battery solutions, which are primarily used in new electric vehicles, energy storage and consumer products.
Michael Meeske, the Green-and-Whites’ managing director, is glad that “with BAK, VfL has another partner at its side that shares our vision and values and wants to tread new paths. As an innovation-driven business, BAK Battery invests considerable resources in research into renewable energies. This aspiration for progress regarding the environment and climate fits perfectly with our environmental focus and the target to reduce our emissions to net zero by 2025.”
Together for cleaner energy
Wang Pan, deputy CEO of BAK Battery, said: “We are delighted at the partnership with VfL Wolfsburg. This partnership is a combination of sport, green thinking and the coming together of power and energy. I am sure that our company will feel and embrace the enthusiasm and the spirit of the club. BAK is ready, with its work together with the Wolves, to change the world through the use of cleaner energy, and hopes that we can create unlimited opportunities in the future.”
In 2018, BAK powered a total of more than 170,000 new energy vehicles, expanded and completed energy storage product lines, and also established an energy storage product base. Particularly in the area of rechargeable battery applications across the full range of car models, BAK serves more than ten of the world's largest car manufacturers, providing reliable power for new electric vehicles.
