VfL Women to meet English champions Chelsea in UWCL quarter-finals.
In the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, two-time winners VfL Wolfsbug will take on ex-She Wolf Pernille Harder’s current club Chelsea. It will be the fourth meeting between the two sides, with the Green-and-Whites having won each of the previous three.
The first leg will be played on 23/24 March, before the crucial second leg takes place on 31 March/1 April. The exact dates and times, along with the venues, will be agreed in the coming days. As things currently stand with European travel restrictions, the games cannot be held in London and Wolfsburg. The winners of the quarter-final match-up between FC Bayern Munich and FC Rosengard await in the semis.
“Top European team”
Ralf Kellermann, VfL Women sporting director, gave his reaction to the draw: “We’re looking forward to testing ourselves against one of the very top European teams, and also of course to the reunion with Pernille Harder.”
