The VfL Wolfsburg Ladies have been drawn against Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the DFB Cup.
If the She-Wolves are to reach the DFB Cup final in Cologne on 1 May, they will have to overcome Bayern Munich in the last four of the competition, the draw for which took place in Frankfurt on Thursday. The tie is set to take place in the Bavarian capital on 31 March, with the exact kick-off time to be confirmed in due course.
The two teams have already faced each other twice in the Allianz Women’s Bundesliga this season. VfL won 6-0 at the AOK Stadion in September before losing 4-2 away from home last month.
“We’re happy to accept this challenge”
“After a tough couple of weeks we’d have preferred to play at home, but we’re happy to accept this challenge,” said VfL head coach Stephan Lerch. “We lost in Munich in the league, so now we have the chance to get our revenge in another competition. That’s our objective.”
