There was a double blow for Josip Brekalo on Tuesday evening as the Wolves attacker not only suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat in Croatia’s opening Euro U21 match against Romania, but also limped off with a knee injury, which could potentially spell the end of his tournament.
Croatia’s remaining Group C games see them face two more tough opponents in France (Friday 21 June, 21:00* kick-off) and England (Monday 24 June, 21:00).
Uduokhai an unused sub
The other Green-White involved in the Euro, Felix Uduokhai, was an unused substitute on Monday. The VfL centre-back watched from the bench as his Germany team-mates claimed a 3-1 win over Denmark in Group B. Coach Stefan Kuntz’s team are back in action on Thursday 20 June (21:00 kick-off), when they take on Serbia, before closing out the group stage on Sunday 23 June (kick-off again at 21:00) against Austria.
