The Wolves lost 3-1 in a friendly against FC Hansa Rostock.
VfL Wolfsburg took on Bundesliga 2 side FC Hansa Rostock in a friendly at the VfL training ground on Wednesday afternoon, and just as they did in pre-season, the Wolves lost to the second-tier outfit. The 3-1 defeat is also VfL’s first under head coach Florian Kohfeldt. The goals for the visitors were scored by Haris Duljevic (17’), Streli Mamba (60’) and Theo Martens (79’), before Dodi Lukebakio netted a late consolation for the Green-and-Whites (85’).
On Thursday the Volkswagen Arena hosts Germany’s World Cup qualifier against Liechtenstein, with three Wolves players in the squad. As well as Lukas Nmecha, Maximilian Arnold and Ridle Baku have been called up to the squad as replacements. Following the international break, the Wolves return to Bundesliga business away to Arminia Bielefeld next weekend.
