The Wolves have returned from their winter training camp and now enjoy two days off.
The Green-and-Whites had one final session on the pitch alongside their hotel on Saturday morning before heading back to Wolfsburg. VfL head coach Oliver Glasner had one surprise up his sleeve however, allowing his charges a game of football tennis which made a pleasant change from the intensive work that they had been doing on the Algarve. Robin Knoche, Daniel Ginczek and Admir Mehmedi were the stand-out players at the net, winning the impromptu mini-tournament before the team made their way to Faro Airport for the flight back to Germany.
The Wolves will be back in league action in a week’s time, with Glasner’s men heading to 1. FC Köln to get the second half of the season under way (Saturday 18 January, 15:30 CET). Before then, the players will have two days off before training begins again on Tuesday 14 January at the VfL centre.
