„An impressive, energetic display“

The reaction of the coaches after VfL’s fifth successive home win.

Der Trainer des VfL Wolfsburg Oliver Glasner geht auf den oberkörperfreien Daniel Ginczek zu, um einzuschlagen.

In the final Bundesliga fixture of 2020, a strong defensive performance helped the Wolves to a hard-fought 1-0 win over promoted side Stuttgart, and they will spend Christmas 2020 in fourth place in the table.

Oliver Glasner: “I want to pay a big compliment to the team for this win. It’s been a tricky 24 hours for all of us. I’m really impressed by how they dealt with it as a team. It was difficult but they produced a great performance and held on for the win with a lot of drive and strength until the end. It was an energetic display that impressed me, so I’m very happy.”

Pellegrino Matarazzo: “I thought it was a decent performance from us against a very good Wolfsburg team. There were chances on both sides. VfL scored from a free-kick, whereas we didn’t take our opportunities. It was an evenly balanced contest in which our chance conversion was lower, and that’s why we’re going home with a 1-0 defeat.”
