“A great performance”

The coaches give their thoughts on the Wolves’ win at Schalke.

VfL Wolfsburg continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 2-0 success at Schalke 04 on Matchday 8 that lifted them up to fifth in the table.

Oliver Glasner: “The team deserve massive credit; it was a great performance today. They were fantastic in the first few minutes – they really enjoyed playing out there. We were very quick and kept switching our positions. That was really good. Schalke changed things around after that and put us under a bit more pressure. The match was more evenly balanced at that stage, but at the end of the day we’re happy with the win.”

Manuel Baum: “Obviously we’re disappointed and upset. You go into the game wanting to do a lot of things, but then you concede the opening goal right away in the third minute. Up to their second goal, and maybe even after that, nothing went right for us. We should have pulled a goal back as soon as the second half started, and then we’d have had the chance to turn the game around.”
