Malli defeated, Dimata on target.

Very differing results: On Thursday evening, the first of the Wolves internationals, with a total of nine VfL players currently on duty, were in action with their respective national teams. On the night, Yunus Malli and Turkey suffered a friendly international defeat to Romania, whilst Nany Landry Dimata and the Belgian Under 21 selection not only notched up an important U21 EURO qualifying win, but the VfL man also got in on the scoring.

Malli: Defeat in Romania

Turkey, with Green-White playmaker Yunus Malli, were in friendly international action on Thursday evening in Romania. The hosts lorded the play over the entire ninety minutes and ultimately secured a deserved 2-0 (1-0) victory thanks to a brace from Gheorghe Grozav (42'/ 69'), who plays his league football in Turkey with Karabükspor. Malli, who was introduced for the second-half, could do nothing to help his side avoid defeat.

Dimata on target

After the fifth qualifying game in Group 6, the Belgian Under 21s remain on track to secure a qualifying place for the U21 EURO final in Italy in 2019. On Thursday, the young Belgians ran out eventual 3-2 (2-0) winners over their counterparts from Cyprus. Nany Landry Dimata, who was playing a centre-forward for his national team, was on target with the intermittent 2-0 (45'+2). Isaac Mbenza (15') have previously given the Belgians an early lead. The Cypriots hit back to draw level after the break, with goals from Giorgos Papageorgiou (49') and Andreas Fragkou (75'), before Aaron Leya Iseka struck in injury time (90' + 2), with a much celebrated winner for Belgium.
