"Pay a compliment"
VfL coach Stephan Lerch: "We struggled to get into the game at the beginning. We knew Frankfurt would attack us high up the park and that we wouldn’t have much time to find a footballing solution. After the goal, we took ever more control of the game and combined our way through on a number of occasions. We allowed very little through and, with that in mind, I must pay my team a compliment. It was good to see my side amount so much pressure against as good a team as Frankfurt. In the second-half, the condition of the pitch continued to deteriorate and things remained tense, as we failed to get that second goal."
