The VfL women were beaten 0-1 in the top-of-the-table clash with SC Freiburg.

The Bundesliga women from VfL Wolfsburg have suffered their first defeat of the current season. In the top game on matchday 7 on Saturday afternoon, coach Stephan Lerch’s side slipped to a 0-1 (0-1) defeat away to SC Freiburg. The early goal for the hosts was scored by Giulia Gwinn (7'), leaving the Lady-Wolves chasing the game over almost the complete duration. In spite of creating a number of chances, the Green-Whites were unable to find an answer. In the table, Freiburg thus surpass last season’s double-winners, who slip back into second spot. The Green-Whites will be in action again this coming Wednesday, November 8th (kick-off 19:00 CET), when they face AC Fiorentina in the Champions League 'Round of 16'.
