Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg are making great strides in the digital world, breaking new ground in digital fan engagement through their partnership with Fanzone. The Green-and-Whites’ first NFT licence partner has produced blockchain-based digital trading cards featuring players from the VfL men’s and women’s teams.
Football and crypto fans can purchase, collect and trade the cards on the digital platform www.fanzone.io. In future, they will also be able to use the cards in mini and fantasy games on the Fanzone app. The collection currently consists of 61 individual cards – some of which are rarer than others – with each depicting players from the men’s and women’s squads, not to mention the two head coaches and the VfL mascot.
Six different card packs will be available in the store at www.fanzone.io, varying in price from €8 to €150. On launch day on September 20th , there will initially be two men’s packs: the seven-card ‘Early Wolf’ pack – costing €25 and limited to 500 editions – and the ‘Little Wolf’ pack, which contains five cards and is available for €8. These will be followed on September 27th by further packs featuring players from the Women’s team, as well as ‘mixed’ packs: ‘Little Wolf Women’ (five cards), ‘Big Wolf’ (seven cards), ‘Giant Wolf’ (nine cards) and ‘Werewolf’ (three cards).
