  • End of an era - For almost four years, together they were the public face of VfL Wolfsburg: Director of Sport Klaus Allofs made the move to Wolfsburg on November 15th, 2012 and, in his first major undertaking at the club, he secured the services of Dieter Hecking as new head-coach of the Wolves. Hecking took charge in January 2013. Together they put the Wolves back on track, formed a strong team and ensured consistent further development. The peak was then achieved in 2015, finishing as runner-up in the Bundesliga, winning the DFB-Cup and then the Super-Cup. Sportingly those dizzying heights could not be repeated and on October 17th, 2016, Dieter Hecking was relieved of his duties as head-coach. On December 12th, the working relationship between VfL and Klaus Allofs was terminated, ending what had been a long and successful era. Thank you Klaus Allofs, thank you Dieter Hecking for many unforgettable moments, wins and triumphs!
