Van der Heyden: "Heart and soul for the Wolves"

VfL Wolfsburg presented their new signing Peter van der Heyden from the Belgian club Bruges to the press on Tuesday (28.12.04). The left sided Belgian international defender will join the Wolves for the start of next season. Before meeting the press, van der Heyden put pen to paper on a deal which will keep him at the VOLKSWAGENARENA until June 30th 2008. A visibly delighted VfL manager Klaus Fuchs was delighted at finally getting the 28 year old Belgian.

"We are delighted to have acquired his services, not only because we can add his name to our long list of internationals in our squad," said Fuchs.

New car

Peter van der Heyden has already had a look at his future home: „I wanted to see my future home, so I brought my mother and my girlfriend with me for a two day visit,“ said the player, who also chose his new company car which will be a Touareg (6 cylinder, 3,0 Litre Diesel motor). He is very optimistic about his prospects at Wolfsburg: “VfL Wolfsburg is a club with a great potential. I hope that the Wolves reach the UEFA Cup places at the end of the season, and I think they will. I won’t only be playing with my feet for the club, but with all my heart as well,” said van der Heyden.
