Fine home record

The 1-1 home draw against Cologne at the weekend was not just any old football game. The round 12 clash was the 50th Bundesliga match to be played in the VOLKSWAGEN ARENA. The draw was of course two points short of what the club had hoped for, but on the positive side of things, it meant that the Wolves remain unbeaten at home this season after 8 matches.The VOLKSWAGEN ARENA is also a venue used by international superstars for concerts. Anastasia played in the arena and next year Sir Elton John will be playing there in June 8th.

Memory lane

Since the opening game in the new stadium against Stuttgart (1-2) on December 15th 2002, the Wolves have managed 28 victories at home, lost 14 and drawn 8, four of which happened this season. There has only ever been one goalless draw in the VOLKSWAGEN ARENA, recently against Schalke. Wolves fans have celebrated 95 goals at home since the Arena opened.

Tomislav Maric scored first! 

The first Wolves goal in their new stadium came from the penalty spot in the opening defeat against Stuttgart and was scored by Tomislav Maric. The highest home win came last year, as the Wolves thrashed Arminia Bielefeld 5-0.
