Fach: "Missed opportunity"

- Fach: Needless defeat
That there were differing views being offered at the post-match press conference in Duisburg, after the Wolves had just lost 0-1 there in round 11 of the Bundesliga is understandable. On the one hand there was the Duisburg coach Norbert Meier, who had seen his side win their second league game of the season. On the other was the Wolfsburg coach Holger Fach, who was frustrated at a missed chance of continuing his side’s recent run of good form. Read here what the coaches had to say after the final whistle.
Norbert Meier (Duisburg): "It was a sign of life from my team after recent dismal performances. We grew in confidence by the minute, and battled all the way. My team was prepared to run for each other today, so we deserved to win the game, now we can catch our breath."
Holger Fach (VfL Wolfsburg): "After good performances of late we failed to build on our run of good form. We didn’t manage to force Duisburg into making mistakes. We have to accept this setback. We simply didn’t do enough to win this game."
