Mike Hanke replaces Klose

- Hanke: Late call up
The Wolves striker Mike Hanke has received an unexpected late call up to the Germany squad, ahead of the friendly game against Turkey in Istanbul on Saturday. Hanke will join the German squad on Thursday October 6th. Hanke, who signed from Schalke at the start of the season, had been expecting to play for the German under-21s against Wales in Braunschweig on Friday. The Werder Bremen striker Miroslav Klose, who is seeded in the Germany side, has failed to recover in time from a bout of flu.
Wait and see
Whether or not Klose will be fit enough in time to face China on Wednesday in the AOL Arena in Hamburg or not, remains to be seen. He is however expected to be fit in time for that match. That match will be broadcast live on the ARD TV channel. Kick off will be at 8.30 pm. Should Klose recover in time, Mike Hanke will rejoin the under-21 squad ahead of their European Championship qualifier against Austria in St. Veit.
