Gerets: "My team played with heart"

There was huge relief all round in Wolfsburg on Saturday, as the Wolves took three crucial points in the Niedersachsen derby at home to Hanover. Although fortunate, the win keeps Wolfsburg in 8th place in the Bundesliga table, Hanover is 5 points behind them in 10th place. Erik Gerets (VfL Wolfsburg): "My team showed the kind of heart today that I haven’t seen them do lately. Hanover played very well and deserved to take a point from this match. Because we battled away until the very last minute, the win was okay."

Ewald Lienen (Hanover): "Only one side deserved to win here today and that team was Hanover. We produced one of our best performances away from home here today. After going a gal down we dominated Wolfsburg. I must add however, that we have to start scoring at sometime."
